TORONTO, June 11 /CNW/ - When it comes to the most important member of the family, forty per cent of Canadians say their pet is No. 1, according to research conducted on behalf of Kijiji Canada, with more than 50 per cent of pet owners sharing their home with a dog.
To celebrate Canada's canines and capture their most memorable moments, Kijiji Canada is hosting a photo booth at Woofstock, the largest festival for dogs in North America. People and their pets are encouraged to stop by the booth on Saturday, June 12 or Sunday, June 13 to play dress-up and pose for a photo.
Since half of Canadians have adopted a pet and one-in-three are open to the idea, Kijiji brand ambassadors will also be on hand to educate consumers on adopting a pet, including browsing thousands of ads on Kijiji.ca to find their canine companion.

From baseball fans to soccer stars, Torontonians and their four-legged friends will gear up and pose for photos in front of the Toronto city skyline. Did you know? - Whether it's functional or fashionable, one-in-five Canadian pet owners dress up their pet, according to the research conducted on behalf of Kijiji Canada. - Chihuahuas, German Shepherds, and boxers are some of the most popular breeds when it comes to searches on Kijiji.ca. - Almost one-in-10 Canadians have entered their pet in a contest, hoping they'll win a prize for being the smartest or most adorable.
Methodology
The survey was conducted between April 8th and April 20th, 2009 using a national random sample of 1,591 respondents from Leger Marketing's Web panel. This method simulates a probability sample which would yield a maximum margin of error of +/-2.5%, 19 times out of 20.
