Media Advisory - Climate Action Network Canada--G8/G20 Technical Briefing
OTTAWA, June 13 /CNW Telbec/ - Climate Action Network Canada will be hosting a press briefing and teleconference on Monday, June 14 to discuss expectations and concerns leading up to the G8/G20 meetings. Representatives of leading Canadian NGOs who have been closely following the G8/G20 will provide a technical briefing on the summit and the role that Canada has been playing.
The upcoming G8/G20 summits present a rare opportunity for world leaders to come together and discuss some of the planet's most pressing challenges. The Canadian hosted G8 and G20 will be the first such meetings in over 4 years to not have climate change as a central agenda item. This briefing will provide the necessary background and contacts to journalists covering climate change and the G8/G20 summit.
