Climate action plan will be unveiled at the Americana 2015, March 18, Montreal, 8:30 a.m.
MONTRÉAL, March 13, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Sustainable Canada Dialogues (SCD), a group of 60 scholars and scientists from all 10 provinces, has built a consensus around a plan of sustainability solutions to help Canada successfully achieve transition to a low-carbon society. They wish to encourage public debate on climate policy in view of the upcoming federal election and the December 2015 Climate Summit in Paris.
The SCD initiative will unveil its climate action position paper at the Americana, the International Environmental Trade Show and Conference, on Wednesday March 18, 2015 in Montréal (where half the SCD scholars will be present). This partnership between Americana and SCD recognizes that the urgent transition towards a low-carbon society will offer Canadians opportunities for innovation, new technology and employment.
Following a panel entitled Climate Action: Time for Dialogue and Innovation and an exchange among several of the document's authors and governmental and business representatives, the Ambassador of France to Canada, Mr. Nicolas Chapuis, will present a preview of the critical issues to be discussed at the 2015 Paris Climate Summit. Media representatives will have an opportunity to meet and interview the SCD scholars during the 10:00 a.m. break.
