MEDIA ADVISORY - CN employees and hockey stars face off to raise funds for
charity
MONTREAL, Oct. 15 /CNW Telbec/ - A team of CN employees will take on hockey stars in a friendly game this Saturday in Montreal to raise funds for charity. Proceeds from the event will benefit organizations supported by the CN Employees' and Pensioners' Community Fund, including the Marie-Vincent Foundation and the Ted Nolan Foundation. The CN Fund has raised approximately $300,000 for the event this year to date.
Prior to the game, from 1 p.m. to 2.00 p.m. on Oct. 16, the hockey stars will take part in a free skate with ticket holders and will be available for media interviews and photographs at St-Michel Arena, located at 3440 Jarry Street East in Montreal. The CN Hockey Greatest Stars Challenge will start at 2.30 p.m.
Watch CN's own hockey team, coached by Ted Nolan, battle Donald Audette, Patrice Brisebois, Guy Carbonneau, Enrico Ciccone, Vincent Damphousse, Mathieu Dandenault, Gilbert Delorme, Normand Dupont, Karl Dykhuis, Sergio Momesso, Dave Morissette, Stéphane Richer, Richard Sévigny, and Yvon Lambert.
Weekend assignment editors are asked to confirm media attendance at the event with Louis-Antoine Paquin, CN manager, corporate communications, who will be on site at the game.
Luc Jobin, CN's executive vice-president and chief financial officer, will present a cheque to the event's beneficiaries between the first and second periods.
