Coca-Cola presents "Open Happiness" on February 20
VANCOUVER, Feb. 19 /CNW/ - On Saturday, February 20, 2010, Coca-Cola will bring three of Canada's hottest artists from the worlds of hip hop, rock and pop to the stage at Live City Yaletown in David Lam Park. For the first time in front of a live audience, Kardinal Offishall, Jay Malinowski and Coeur de pirate will sing "Open Happiness," Coca-Cola's global anthem about embracing life's simple pleasures.
The song reflects the spirit of positivity, optimism and fun that is part of Coca-Cola's Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games activation and has been heard across Canada on the Olympic Torch Relay.
Who: Kardinal Offishall - This Juno and MMVA winning Canadian rapper is often credited as Canada's "hip-hop ambassador" and is best known for his distinctive reggae and dancehall-influenced style of hip hop used in hit singles such as 2008's Dangerous. Jay Malinowski - Jay Malinowski is a founding member and front-man of the Juno-award winning Bedouin Soundclash. Through his solo work, Malinowski draws on musical influences that have touched him throughout his life, while maintaining his own distinctive sound that Bedouin Soundclash fans have grown to love. Coeur de pirate - Born Béatrice Martin, this Quebec pop singer- songwriter released her first album in 2008 and was subsequently nominated for Francophone Album of the Year at the 2009 Juno Awards. Her single "Comme des Enfants" reached number one on CBC Radio 3's R3-30 charts the week of February 19, 2009, only the second French language song to ever top that chart.
