Media Advisory - Colleges and Universities Minister Glen Murray to speak at Centennial College golf tournament
TORONTO, July 6, 2012 /CNW/ - The Honourable Glen Murray, Ontario Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, will be speaking at a special breakfast event preceding Centennial College's 10th Anniversary Golf Tournament at the picturesque Copper Creek Golf Club near Kleinburg on July 9.
Minister Murray will be discussing the transformation of post-secondary education that will position Ontario's students at the top of the class in the new creative economy, and his government's efforts to make college and university more affordable and accessible to Ontario families.
The Hon. Glen Murray is the MPP for Toronto Centre. First elected in a 2010 by-election, he was re-elected in October 2011 and was appointed Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities. Minister Murray brings his vast wealth of knowledge, creativity and innovation to the role.
Centennial College's annual summertime fundraiser at Copper Creek has raised more than $570,000 toward scholarships and bursaries for Centennial students. Copper Creek Golf Club is regarded as one of the premier public golf courses in Canada.
