MEDIA ADVISORY - COMMUNITY BULB PLANTING AT DAWSON COLLEGE TO LAUNCH PEACE
GARDEN PROJECT
MONTREAL, Oct. 18 /CNW Telbec/ - Hundreds of students, teachers and staff of Dawson College will assemble today on the west lawn of the campus, corner of Sherbrooke and Wood, to plant more than 5,000 bulbs on the site of the Peace Garden.
Director General Richard Filion, in the presence of Louise De Sousa, mother of Anastasia, the young woman who lost her life in the September 2006 tragedy and for whom the flowering almond tree that will serve as the anchor of the Garden was planted, will receive the Garden's first major gift from the Green Apple School Program, an initiative of Metro stores in partnership with ECOCAMPUS, a program of the Fondation québécoise en environnement.
DATE: Monday, October 18, 2010
TIME: between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., peak hours between 12:15 and 2 p.m., check presentation at 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: Dawson College, outdoors, on west lawn of the campus, nearest to corner of Sherbrooke St. West and Wood Ave. in Westmount.
