/CNW/ - Community College faculty and professional support staff across the province go to the polls today in a strike vote. The 900 members of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union are being encouraged to vote in favour of strike action.
The vote will be conducted electronically and polls are open from 6:00 a. m. until 8:00 p. m. Official results will be released to the media later this evening.
The Community College members have been without a contract since
August 31, 2008
. Outstanding issues of salary and benefits remain. The Nova Scotia Community College has not received a financial commitment from the Department of Education to resolve these issues.
