Media Advisory - Conference Board of Canada Hosts Workplace Mental Health Conference
TORONTO, June 12, 2017 /CNW/ - A recent Conference Board of Canada report indicated that almost a quarter of Canadians living with a mental illness are unable to work because of their symptoms. Depression and anxiety alone cost the Canadian economy at least $32.3 billion a year and $17.3 billion a year, respectively, in foregone GDP due to lost productivity.
The Conference Board of Canada's Workplace Mental Health 2017 conference will bring together mental health experts to discuss how to improve mental health in the workplace. Topics of discussion include:
- The role of managers on mental health;
- Depression in the workplace;
- PTSD and first responders;
- The mental health needs of an aging workforce;
- Screen time addiction and mental health.
