Media Advisory - Conference Board of Canada To Unveil Canadian Food Strategy
TORONTO, March 14, 2014 /CNW/ - The Conference Board of Canada will unveil the Canadian Food Strategy at the 3rd Canadian Food Summit 2014 on Tuesday, March 18. The Canadian Food Strategy, the product of four years of research and dialogue by the Conference Board's Centre for Food in Canada, has been developed from a conviction that changing our nation's food system is both an opportunity and an imperative.
The five elements of the Strategy are industry prosperity, healthy food, food safety, household food security, and environmental sustainability. The Strategy includes eight goals, 60 desired outcomes and 110 action items.
Media availability with Dr. Michael Bloom, Vice-President Industry and Business Strategy, will follow the unveiling of Canadian Food Strategy. Journalists are asked to register in advance with the Conference Board for accreditation to the Canadian Food Summit.
The 3rd Canadian Food Summit 2014: From Strategy to Action is a major two-day Conference Board of Canada event, bringing together Canadian and international experts to a examine wide range of food-related issues and explore ways to implement the actions recommended in the Canadian Food Strategy.
