OTTAWA-GATINEAU, June 25, 2013 /CNW/ - On June 27, 2013, a media lock-up will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) for the decision on an application by Astral to change the effective control of its broadcasting undertakings to BCE Inc.
The Chairman of the CRTC will address the media and answer questions shortly after 4 p.m.
Any parties interested in attending the lock-up are asked to contact the Media Relations department at 819-997-9403 or [email protected] by June 27 at 11:00 a.m. Parties are asked to specify if they intend to bring a video camera. Due to space constraints, only one reporter is allowed per news organization. They will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement upon arrival.
No one will be permitted to leave the lock-up before 4:00 p.m. Cellphones, smartphones, wireless handheld devices (e.g. BlackBerry), 3G tablets (e.g. iPad), pagers, etc. must be left with the CRTC staff in the room. Owners of laptops and Wi-Fi only tablets must disable wireless capabilities prior to arriving at the CRTC. Telephone lines and Internet access will be available at the end of the lock-up.
The decision will be posted on the CRTC website www.crtc.gc.ca at 4:00 p.m. on 27 June 2013.
