MEDIA ADVISORY - CSA Group to open $14-million global headquarters and
provide a behind-the-scenes look at exciting testing procedures
TORONTO, Oct. 20 /CNW/ - CSA Group, a global leader in standards testing and certification, is unveiling the $14-million renovation of its headquarters in Rexdale, ON (Greater Toronto Area). The building sets a new standard for harnessing the power of sustainable energy and green practices. To celebrate this grand re-opening and a 56-year commitment to the Rexdale community, CSA Group will hold a grand re-opening event tomorrow, as well as interactive tours highlighting exciting testing procedures performed at this facility for leading manufacturers and innovative products around the world.
Media are invited to attend the official opening that will include brief remarks, followed by interactive tours and demonstrations of flame and gas fire tests, circuit breaker overload testing, dummy drop harness testing, and consumer electronics overloaded to test for shock and fire hazards.
WHAT: | CSA Group is unveiling its new global headquarters in Rexdale, a facility powered in part by alternative energy pilot projects such as solar panel installations and wind energy generators, where extreme testing procedures are conducted for global testing and certification customers. | |||
VISUALS: | Numerous testing stations including: Circuit Breaker Testing: a circuit breaker overloaded to the point of instability; Flame testing: a number of wind and fire-based testing procedures; Dummy Drop Testing: a weighted torso dropped from a tower to demonstrate harness testing procedures; Capacitor Testing: consumer electronics devices overloaded to demonstrate what can happen when capacitors don't meet safety standards.
