promotion of its kind

Media are invited to join Mr. Lube in presenting a Scarborough resident with a brand new Ford Fusion Hybrid

VANCOUVER , Jan. 11 /CNW/ - A Mr. Lube customer and single mother of three will start the New Year off in winning style with a brand new Ford Fusion Hybrid. Representatives from Mr. Lube , Canada's leading quick lube provider, will present the prize to Ms. Fotini Fotias-Tennant on Thursday, January 14, 2010 in Scarborough, Ontario.

The national 'Change Oil. Win Big. Freak Out' promotion was the first of its kind to be offered by Mr. Lube , running from September 14th to November 8th, 2009 . The grand prize includes a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid complete with free Mobil 1 oil changes for the next three years.

"In addition to our affordability and convenience, we wanted to provide an incentive for our customers to keep their automobiles maintained and safely on the road," said Brent Cuthbertson , Vice President of Marketing, Mr. Lube . "Fortunately, we could not have found a more deserving winner. She has recently started a new business, has struggled financially to maintain her current vehicle, and has three school-aged children at home."

Customers across the country who purchased an oil change from Mr. Lube during the promotional period received a scratch and win card. In addition to the grand prize, each card offered a chance to instantly win discounts on select Mr. Lube maintenance services and other instant prizes.

"I had stopped going to Mr. Lube for a number of years but I really missed their hospitable and informative staff. Where else can you enjoy a newspaper and a cup of coffee without even getting out of your vehicle?" asked Fotias-Tennant. "I received a call telling me I'd won the day after I had spent $800 on mechanical repairs on my old van, which apparently will have to be scrapped after this winter. The timing is perfect!"

The car, already customized to Fotias-Tennant's specifications, will be given away on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 1pm at 2370 Lawrence Avenue East, Scarborough, Ontario. Media and local photographers are invited to attend and join in the celebration.
