Media Advisory - Cycling for Thyroid Cancer Research - Victoria to Halifax

HALIFAX, June 29 /CNW/ - On Wednesday, June 30, 2010, cyclist Gary Jones will complete his Victoria to Halifax cycling odyssey with a ceremonial dipping of his bicycle tire in Halifax Harbour. Gary, a 65-year-old retired truck driver, is a thyroid cancer survivor whose cycling fundraiser is expected to raise a grand total of $25,000 to benefit thyroid cancer awareness and research at the QEII Health Sciences Centre and cancer research at the Canadian Cancer Society.
