Media Advisory - Discussion panel on the mental health needs of young adults in a changing landscape Français
OTTAWA, Oct. 17, 2018 /CNW/ - Today the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) is partnering with Algonquin College to host a panel discussion on the mental health needs of emerging adults. Emerging youth refers to the developmental life stage from late adolescence to early adulthood, roughly ages 16 to 25. This stage is when early symptoms of diagnosable mental health problems and illnesses most often develop. It is also when young adults face the most barriers in accessing services, often disconnecting from services as they are forced to transition from youth to adult services at 18 or 19.
This event will launch a series of powerful video testimonials by emerging adults describing their unique needs and feature an engaging panel discussion with:
Moderator: Samuel Breau, Manager, Communications & Stakeholder Relations, Public Affairs, MHCC
Opening Remarks: Louise Bradley, President and CEO, MHCC
Panelists:
