The Dr. Peter Centre will be receiving a grant from ViiV Healthcare to continue a vital pilot program supporting those aging with HIV. The grant will allow the innovative Evening Program to continue for the next two years. |
Due to improved treatment regiments, people with HIV are aging and experience unique challenges as they age. The only program of its kind in Canada, it stands to support hundreds of individuals in the Vancouver region alone. The Evening Program works to combat challenges around food insecurity and social isolation, which are direct contributors to negative health outcomes and quality of life for Canadians. |
|
The program will help mitigate risks of treatment interruption and other health complications for aging gay, bi, or men who have sex with men. |
The Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds to support innovative health care at the Dr. Peter Centre in Metro Vancouver. The Dr. Peter Centre is British Columbia's only HIV day health program and 24-hour nursing care residence.
