Media Advisory - Driver James Vance at Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix Racefest in Support of Children's Wish
PICKERING, ON, July 12, 2013 /CNW/ - Professional racecar driver James Vance (www.jamesvanceracing.com), whose race in the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix will be in support of The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada, will be in attendance at Racefest on July 17th, 2013 at Yonge-Dundas Square. The event also features pit stop demos, show cars and an exclusive autograph session. Vance, 20, is the only Canadian competitor in his class competing in Canada's biggest sports car race of the year on the weekend of July 19th to 21st at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
Children's Wish is dedicated to granting the most heartfelt wish of children between the ages of three to 17, coping with a life threatening illness. Vance has set up an online fundraising page and is asking for donations in advance of the race is excited to be helping to grant a wish for a child and their family during their most challenging times.
"We are very impressed that someone so young is dedicated to helping children and has shown a philanthropic spirit beyond his years," said Sandra Harris, Director, Ontario Region. "It is because of dedicated supporters like James that we are able to help so many children realize their most heartfelt wish."
Vance, who is ecstatic to be competing in such a renowned race and representing Children's Wish, stated: "I have been training hard for this event and I'm proud to be here. No doubt, this is going to be challenging but nothing compared to what a child coping with a life threatening illness endures daily."
