Media Advisory - Dynamic Crowdsourced Event on October 10 in Toronto "How Crowdfunding is Transforming Canada: Stories from the Edge"
TORONTO, Oct. 2, 2013 /CNW/ -
What:
NCFA Launches Innovative Book Project - 100% Crowdsourced and Crowdfunded!
In celebration of our 1st year anniversary since NCFA Canada was founded last October 2012, NCFA Canada has been inspired to launch an exciting crowdsourced and crowdfunded book project at its anniversary party. In collaboration with Indie Ink Publishing, How Crowdfunding is Transforming Canada: Stories from the Edge celebrates all things crowdfunding by sourcing real-life stories from the crowd to "take the conversation to the next level".
The crowdfunding movement is inspiring a new generation of thinking and collaborating to develop a network and shared values to catalyze self-sufficiency, entrepreneurship and solve the world's smallest or greatest problems. This book and anniversary event is NCFA Canada's chance to say 'thank you' to its board, advisors, sponsors, partners, 'friendlies' and members, as it drives forward collectively with its vision to build Canada's crowdfunding industry.
Crowdsourced Stories from the Edge: Participate and listen to inspiring stories of how crowdfunding is driving innovation, job creation and at the hub of social and economic change at a grass roots level across Canada. This is a unique opportunity for participants to share their crowdfunding story and help shape Canadian crowdfunding history by propelling the industry forward. Hear first-hand experience from successful and unsuccessful crowdfunding insiders, experts and peers, and learn from insightful campaigns that took a life and shape of their own.
Crowdfunding Pitches for NCFA Promotional Package and Potential TV Spot: Crowdfunding campaigns are much like elevator pitches. NCFA Canada is facilitating this pitch style competition for crowdfunders to pitch their idea to the crowd who will vote on the top business, product idea, or project. Two winning pitches will receive an NCFA marketing package consisting of campaign support and promotion. In addition, these pitches will be presented to a national television producer for show consideration and that means you could be on the air. This is for crowdfunders that are planning to launch a campaign in the near future or are mid-campaign.
