Media Advisory - Eleven-old Glace Bay Girl to receive her Shopping Spree Wish!

SYDNEY, NS, Dec. 15, 2015 /CNW/ - December 18^th in Sydney NS, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Chapter, along with the team of Volunteers, Fred Tilley, Marconi Campus Exile Tribe will be part of Emma's shopping spree in Sydney.

Emma was diagnosed with Cystinosis when she was 1 year old. "In November of last year Emma received her Kidney transplant and has been doing amazingly well," says mom Shauna. Emma is so excited to be able to share her wish with her family and the community.   If you see Emma give her a high five!

When:	Friday December 18^th at 1:00pm
Where:	The Children's Place-20 Sydney Port Access Road, Sydney, NS, We will then be heading to Mayflower Mall to complete her shopping wish.

The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada is the largest all Canadian wish granting charity dedicated to granting wishes to Canadian children between the ages of 3 and 17 who are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.  For more than 30 years, Children's Wish has worked tirelessly to grant heartfelt wishes to more than 23,000 children and their families.

This year, the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada expects to grant over 1,000 new wishes across the country with the help of volunteers and generous donors; that is approximately three wishes each and every day, all year long.  In Nova Scotia we have granted almost 1100 wishes so far and have 96 wishes being worked on at this moment to be enjoyed.  Each wish is the child's most heartfelt wish, and carefully structured to meet the particular needs of the child and their family.

Already this year, we are experiencing unprecedented increases of wish referrals through our strong medical community relationships for our wishes granted to children with life-threatening illnesses. Now more than ever, we are encouraging Canadians to donate and support The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada to help us continue to grant the next most heartfelt wish.
