Media Advisory - Energy experts do discuss importance of accreditation and standards to energy sector at World Accreditation Day event Français
OTTAWA, June 4, 2014 /CNW/ -
WHEN | Monday, June 9, 2014, 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. (local time) |
WHAT | Through a keynote presentation and panel discussion, energy experts will discuss how accreditation and standards help to deliver confidence in the provision of energy. There will also be an information session on the value of becoming certified to ISO 50001, the Energy Management System standard. The federal government is offering cost-shared assistance to industrial companies seeking to implement ISO 50001. Convenient access to energy is a luxury that society depends on, and this demand will only go up as the world becomes more industrialized. As this demand for energy grows, it remains as important as ever to ensure that the methods used for harnessing, storing and sharing this energy are safe and efficient. This is accomplished, in part, by the accreditation of those organizations that test devices, inspect energy-related installations, and certify energy-related processes and procedures. Celebrated annually, World Accreditation Day is intended to raise awareness around the globe of the importance of accreditation-related activities. |
