WHAT: Enerkem Alberta Biofuels, along with the City of Edmonton and the Government of Alberta, will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its municipal waste-to-biofuels plant. For Enerkem, this symbolizes its commitment to providing advanced transportation fuels locally and globally. This world's first municipal waste-to-biofuels facility will provide Edmonton the opportunity to reduce GHG emissions by offering a sustainable alternative to landfilling while producing an advanced transportation biofuel. The facility will use Enerkem's green technology to convert non-recyclable and non-compostable municipal solid waste into methanol and ethanol.
