MEDIA ADVISORY - Environment Minister to launch Canada's first superhero comic book aimed at educating kids about the environment - October 7, 4:00 p.m. at MaRS
TORONTO, Oct. 6, 2014 /CNW/ - Media are invited to attend the launch of "The Supergreeners," Canada's first comic book aimed at educating kids about the environment. Set in Canada and largely Toronto-centric, the book features Canadian superhero characters who help solve climate problems globally.
The Hon. Glen Murray, Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, and Ilse Treurnicht, CEO, MaRS Discovery District, will announce the launch of the book.
Nikhil Gunari, the book's creator and CEO of Green-A-Kid Canada Edutainment, will highlight how the book aims to slow the progress of climate change by educating kids about its causes and effects in an entertaining way, equipping young Canadians with the knowledge required to reduce their environmental footprint and achieve carbon neutrality.
The four superheroes from the book (children in costume) will also introduce themselves at the event.
