Media Advisory - EQAO to release 2010 Ontario grade 10 literacy test results
and compare them to the cohort's achievement in grade 6
TORONTO, June 8 /CNW/ - At 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) will announce the provincial student achievement results on the 2009-2010 Ontario Secondary Student Literacy Test (OSSLT). Highlights of these results will be posted on the EQAO Web site, www.eqao.com.
EQAO will also provide data and insights about the progress of the Grade 10 cohort by comparing the results for those students who wrote the junior-division assessment in 2006, when they were in Grade 6, to their results four years later on the 2010 OSSLT.
At that time, EQAO will also post to its Web site the test booklets from the 2010 OSSLT and a video presentation designed to encourage parents and guardians to track their children's progress and talk with their children's teachers about how best to provide the support that's needed.
On June 16, EQAO will release the OSSLT student achievement results by school and school board. Schools and boards currently have their results under embargo. They will be able to speak about their results on June 16 and thereafter.
