Media Advisory - EQAO to Release Local Results of Provincial Assessments in Elementary Grades

TORONTO, Sept. 16, 2014 /CNW/ - At 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2014, the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) will be releasing student achievement results for each school and school board for the 2013-2014 Assessments of Reading, Writing and Mathematics, Primary Division (Grades 1-3) and Junior Division (Grades 4-6). Elementary schools and their boards will be able to speak about their results at that time. For each school in the province, EQAO will also be publishing a report that tracks the progress of students from the Grade 3 assessment to the Grade 6.

EQAO will also release a full provincial report on the elementary school assessments.

The provincial report includes results for subgroups, school contextual data, a summary of assessment findings and profiles of schools that are using provincial assessment results to support improvement planning. The profiled schools are notable for their demonstration of leadership, data-driven strategies and whole-school approaches to help every child succeed.

The provincial report and school, school board and provincial results will be posted on EQAO's Web site, www.eqao.com.

On September 24, school and board reports will be released for the Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics as well as for the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test. A full provincial report on the secondary school assessments will also be released on that date.
