One Hospital Reinvented To Meet Their Needs.
After extensive research with 1,000 women from across Ontario,
Women's College Hospital announces its new state-of-the-art facility
centered on their specific needs
TORONTO, Sept. 23 /CNW/ -
A hospital that keeps you out of hospital. It seems counterintuitive, but with complex health conditions such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease, arthritis, osteoporosis, migraine and mental illness on the rise, preventing and helping women manage their diseases, while enabling them to continue to live a normal life at home, is increasingly important.
A hospital that responds to women's cultural, religious, ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientation and life circumstance. It seems fundamental, but in fact many women, particularly female patients, don't feel they receive enough respect or attention to their individual needs.
A hospital that is Ontario's only ambulatory hospital focused on women's health. It's health care for women revolutionized. Women's College Hospital, along with The Honourable Deb Matthews, Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, and women from all walks and stages of life, will unveil how Women's College Hospital is changing - its building, its services and the care women and their families receive. The Hospital also will unveil the research conducted with 1,000 women from Ontario's diverse population, revealing the challenges women experience when it comes to their health-care.
