Media advisory - Event in honour of Farnham site's 100th anniversary
FARNHAM, QC, Aug. 18 /CNW Telbec/ - Members of the media are invited to attend a day-long celebration in honour of the Farnham training site's 100th anniversary on August 22, 2010.
Festivities will be held in conjunction with Farnham Heritage Day. A marker commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Farnham training site will be unveiled by Brigadier-General Alain Tremblay, Commander of Land Force Quebec Area and Joint Task Force (East). The Commander will then give a speech in honour of the occasion. A photo of a Farnham flag that is currently flying at Kandahar will be presented to the Mayor of Farnham. He will be given the real flag when it is brought back to Canada in September 2010.
A number of CF members and exhibitors will be on site, and a tour of the training sectors will also be on the program. A military photographer will be in attendance, and the photos taken will be available to you on request via e-mail.
