VALCARTIER GARRISON, QC, March 23, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives are invited to come out and watch approximately 3,000 troops from Valcartier participate in Exercise LION INTREPIDE, which will take place from April 10 to May 9, 2012, at Canadian Forces Base Gagetown.
Where: Gagetown Garrison, New Brunswick (transportation provided free of charge)
Days open to the media: April 30 to May 3, 2012
This media opportunity is timed to coincide with the final activity of Exercise LION INTREPIDE. Journalists will be able to observe a simulated large-scale attack by the friendly force on the enemy force.
For the Valcartier troops, this will be the second large-scale training exercise since the combat mission in Afghanistan ended in July 2011. Now that their training is no longer focused on Afghanistan, the troops will concentrate on more classic military techniques in order to carry out different types of missions.
Journalists who are interested in attending are asked to contact the public affairs officer at the contact information below no later than March 30 at noon.
