Media Advisory - Exercise MAPLE FLAG 50 Period 2 Media Day
4 WING COLD LAKE, AB, June 19, 2017 /CNW/ - Media are invited to the Exercise MAPLE FLAG 50 Period 2 Media Day taking place at 4 Wing Cold Lake on June 22, 2017. This exercise is the Royal Canadian Air Force's largest and most complex international training event of the year, involving over 1600 Canadian Armed Forces members and over 500 allied military personnel.
When: June 22, 2017 (7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. approx)
What: Photo opportunities, interviews, Q&A with exercise planners, media flights and extensive tours.
Where: 4 Wing/CFB Cold Lake, Alberta.
Exercise MAPLE FLAG prepares Canadian and partner nations' aircrew, maintainers, and other support personnel for the challenges of air operations in the modern aerial battlespace. Specific training activities include exercising of a coalition command and control process, air-to-air and air-to-surface operations, air-to-air refueling, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, tactical airlift, tactical aviation, and close air support.
