Calgary conference hosted by ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) will bring together senior finance professionals and corporate sustainability leaders to learn how Canadian companies can transition to the green economy
CALGARY, Oct. 15, 2013 /CNW/ - Tomorrow in Calgary, experts from PricewaterhouseCoopers, Suncor, Sustainalytics and Telus will speak about how Canada's finance professionals can embrace the green economy - and how their organizations will benefit when they do.
The event, themed 'Is Corporate Canada Ready for the Green Economy?', is hosted by ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), and held in collaboration with Stratos Inc. and CBSR (Canadian Business for Social Responsibility.)
"The event will bring together senior finance professionals and sustainability leaders to examine how Canadian companies can transition more efficiently to the green economy," said Suzanne K. Godbehere, Head of ACCA Canada. "We'll be encouraging big ideas, open dialogue and wide-ranging debate."
The conference, the third in a series of ACCA-hosted Green Economy events (2012 events took place in Toronto and Vancouver), will feature outstanding speakers. They include:
- Nelson Switzer, Director and Leader, Sustainable Business Solutions, PricewaterhouseCoopers
- Gordon Lambert, Executive Advisor Sustainability and Innovation, Suncor
- Bob Mann, Chief Operating Officer, Sustainalytics
- Andrea Goertz, Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer, Telus
Following the panellist presentations and a question-and-answer session, audience members will engage in moderated discussions on the five "pillars" of the green economy, featured in ACCA's 'Canada and the green economy' report.
