Media Advisory - Families 'build' good will with Gingerbread
With creativity and holiday spirit help low-income families realize their dream of owning their own home
TORONTO, Dec. 12, 2015 /CNW/ - Spread a little holiday cheer and give back to your community this weekend by joining Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area (Habitat GTA) at the Ontario Science Centre for the 13th annual Gingerbread Build. At the event families design and build their own gingerbread houses, enjoy hot chocolate and treats, raffles and prizes as well as an exciting visit from Santa all in support of a good cause.
More than 600 children and families are expected to participate in this year's Gingerbread Build event. Funds raised will go directly towards reaching the goal of $75,000, helping Habitat GTA build safe and decent Habitat homes for hardworking, low-income families.
Gingerbread build kits are available online for $50 each and include: 8.5" gingerbread house, cardboard toolbox stuffed with a variety of candy, two bags of icing, two holiday cookies, foil base, cellophane wrap, and charitable $25 tax receipt.

Families who can't make it out to the event but would still like to participate can purchase a gingerbread kit at the Habitat GTA website for a family living in a shelter, so that they too can enjoy the fun of the holiday season.
