Media Advisory - First Nations from Across Canada to Gather in Ottawa for AFN Special Chiefs Assembly Français
OTTAWA, May 26, 2014 /CNW/ - First Nation leaders, Elders, youth and delegates from across Canada will gather in Ottawa on Tuesday May 27, 2014 for the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) Special Chiefs Assembly. This Special Chiefs Assembly called by the AFN National Executive will focus on the timing and location for the election of National Chief and the approach going forward on Bill C-33 (federal legislation on First Nations education) and, more broadly, First Nations control of First Nations education.

There is no cost for accredited media to attend the Special Chiefs Assembly but registration is required. Media are invited to register on-site beginning on Tuesday May 27.
