Media Advisory - Foreign Service Officers announce continued pickets and more service withdrawals at key international locations in escalated, eleventh week of job action

OTTAWA, June 11, 2013 /CNW/ -

Who:	Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO), Canada's union for non-executive diplomats.
What:	PAFSO is announcing more pickets in its 11th week of job action as well as the withdrawal of more FS officers in several international locations as part of their escalated efforts to obtain equal pay from the Government of Canada in contract negotiations.
Where:	CIC Headquarters, 365 Laurier Avenue, Ottawa
When:	11:00am - 1:00pm, Friday, June 13th.
Why:	The main issue is PAFSO's request for equal pay for equal work. Specifically, the union is seeking wage adjustments to keep Foreign Service officer pay in line with comparable occupational groups in the federal government.
