Media Advisory - Foreign Service Officers announce removal of certain services in key locations, as well as date for return to negotiations with Treasury Board

OTTAWA, May 27, 2013 /CNW/ -

Who:	Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO), Canada's Foreign Service Officer union.
What:	PAFSO is announcing the withdrawal of services in posts in key international locations and at Headquarters in Ottawa, and a resumption in negotiations with Treasury Board.
Where:	Cairo Canada's Permanent Mission to the OAS in Washington, DC International Economic Relations & Summits Division (HQ) North America Policy & Relations Division (HQ)
When:	Effective immediately for withdrawal of service Negotiations resume on June 3, 2013
Why:	The primary issue at hand is PAFSO's request for equal pay for equal work. Specifically, the union is seeking wage adjustments to keep Foreign Service Officer pay in line with comparable occupational groups.
