At the event, media will have an opportunity to learn more about the workplace drug testing services provided by the facility and take a guided tour through the laboratory.

The newly certified Edmonton laboratory was established to meet the need for rapid drug screening turnaround times for companies in Western Canada. The facility's closer proximity to workplaces reduces transit times for the delivery of specimens and allows negative results to be reported within hours of their receipt at the laboratory. Samples requiring confirmation testing are sent on a daily basis to Gamma-Dynacare's forensic toxicology laboratory in London, Ontario - the only laboratory in Canada that is fully accredited by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.  This is important to companies in rapidly growing sectors such as oil and gas, construction and mining, which rely on efficient and high-quality delivery of drug testing programs for safety-sensitive positions.

With this certification, Gamma-Dynacare is recognized as the first Instrumented Initial Testing Facility (IITF) in North America to provide screening for workplace drug testing programs.
