More than 70 kids arrive to the inaugural learning event at Geek Squad Canada's Precinct
BURNABY, BC, March 16, 2015 /CNW/ - Geek Squad is proud to announce the official launch of the Geek Squad Academy Program in Canada! Taking place on Friday, March 20 at Best Buy Canada headquarters in Burnaby, BC, home to Geek Squad Canada's Precinct, the inaugural event will host more than 70 kids aged 10 to 12 from local Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast BC. The eager participants will learn about the latest and greatest in technology from 3D Printing and LEGO Robotics, to Digital Music and Digital Citizenship. Led by a team of local Geek Squad Agents, this fun and interactive program offers kids the opportunity to explore new technology through guided, hands-on experience.

About Geek Squad Academy
Geek Squad Academy is an educational program under Best Buy Canada's corporate community investment pillar. We partner with local non-profit organizations and schools to teach middle and high school students aged 10-12 years about the latest technology in a fun, interactive environment. Classes are conducted by local Geek Squad Agents from Best Buy and Future Shop stores on topics such as Robotics, Digital Citizenship, 3D Printing and Digital Music and Film Production to help youth get excited by the opportunities technology can provide while building friendships and self-confidence.
