NHL joins "Hockey for Haiti" team to support the reconstruction of Grace Children's Hospital in Haiti
MONTREAL, March 17 /CNW/ - NHL veteran Georges Laraque will visit students at Louis-Joseph-Papineau School on Thursday, March 18, 2010, to discuss the Hockey for Haiti fundraising initiative which is benefiting World Vision's earthquake relief in Haiti.
NHL representative Ken Martin will make a special presentation at the event. World Vision will provide an update on the relief and reconstruction effort and how the "Hockey for Haiti" funds will be used to rebuild the Grace Children's Hospital in Port au Prince which was devastated following the January 12th earthquake.
"Hockey for Haiti" is a fundraising initiative that was started by Haitian-Canadian Georges Laraque with the support of the National Hockey League Players' Association after the January earthquake in Haiti.
