Media Advisory - Global Petroleum Show 2012 returns to Calgary bigger than ever

Over 60,000 attendees and exhibitors expected from 95 countries

CALGARY, May 7, 2012 /CNW/ -

WHAT:	Global Petroleum Show (GPS) 2012 will kick off in the energy capital of Canada, Calgary, Alberta, on Tuesday, June 12 and run through Thursday, June 14 at Stampede Park. GPS is recognized as the meeting place for the global oil and gas industry and is the largest energy event in Canada, and one of the largest in the world. Held every two years, the event has expanded to include more exhibition space to meet demand and early indicators reveal that attendance is up significantly over 2010.
	GPS will host over 60,000 registered attendees from 95 different countries worldwide and will feature more than 2,000 exhibiting companies showcasing the latest technologies available for the oil and gas industry.

Tuesday, June 12, 2012:

• Opening Night Reception - Over 1,000 guests will be given an authentic taste of Canada, with activities including curling, bobsledding, cross country skiing, hockey and more.

Wednesday, June 13, 2012:

• International Energy Leaders Forum - International industry leaders will discuss a variety of significant topics including global supply and demand, enhancing recovery, and sustainability.

						8 a.m. - 10 a.m.
						The Fairmont Palliser, Crystal Ballroom

• European Union - Canada Business Forum - Organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada-West (ICCC), this forum will provide Canadian and European companies with the opportunity to discuss the state of the industry and developments arising from the Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA).

						12 p.m. - 2 p.m.
						Stampede Park, Arabian Rooms

• Outdoor Rodeo, Exhibition and BBQ's

						Rodeo runs daily from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
