Media Advisory - Global Smart City experts convene in Toronto for inaugural New Blue Edge Speaker Series
TORONTO, March 5, 2014 /CNW/ - Members of the media are invited to the inaugural event in Waterfront Toronto's New Blue Edge Speaker Series, which presents perspectives from the world's leading thinkers and industry experts on new trends in technology, innovation and collaboration and their role in enhancing the quality, livability and economic value of communities.
On March 7th, Waterfront Toronto will launch this special industry series that focuses on leveraging advanced technology and new tools for innovation that drive economic competitiveness in the global marketplace. Leading thinkers and experts at this Friday's event will include Robert Bell (Intelligent Community Forum, New York, USA) and Rashik Parmar (IBM Academy of Technology, UK), as well as remarks from The Honourable Glen Murray, Ontario's Minister of Transportation and Minister of Infrastructure. A special panel discussion, hosted by Nora Young, host of CBC Radio's Spark, will feature Mr. Bell in conversation with Waterfront Toronto President & CEO John Campbell and Ryerson University President Sheldon Levy.
This New Blue Edge Speaker Series is designed to explore the policies, programs and infrastructure required to support innovation, collaboration and economic growth in the new digital economy and define the leadership required from the public and private sector to put them in place.
