TORONTO, March 11, 2016 /CNW/ - On March 19th, join cricket fans from Thorncliffe Park and Flemingdon Park at a Crazy for Cricket Family Fun Fair to be held for the day at Valley Park Middle School, 130 Overlea Blvd. Hosted by Go Green Cricket and Sports Field, the event draws people of all ages and backgrounds together to celebrate the rivalry that exists between the Cricket Legends, India and Pakistan. The India vs Pakistan match will be displayed indoors in HD on the cafetorium wall, while families enjoy games, outdoor pony rides and a petting zoo that will keep people busy until the game is over.
WHO: |
Go Green Cricket and Sports Field, a grassroots not-for-profit organization which successfully completed construction of a $1.55 million multi-purpose cricket field in June 2015 and now runs subsidized youth skills and coaching programs in cricket and other sports and ecological activities. |
WHAT: |
Crazy for Cricket is a full day event for cricket fans and families starting with breakfast, followed by the ICC T20 World Cup India vs Pakistan cricket match and lunch. Children can also enjoy a petting zoo, pony rides, games, henna and other entertainment. |

WHY: |
Go Green held its first Crazy for Cricket event as a sleepover in April 2011 in honour of the ICC T20 World Cup Finals between India and Sri Lanka. Since then, celebrating the ICC World Cup is a favourite tradition for Thorncliffe Park and Flemingdon Park families with the India and Pakistan match by far drawing the greatest attention. |
