Go Green Cricket and Sports Field |
WHAT: |
A Grand Opening funded by the City of Toronto through the Pan Am Festivals grant marks the beginning of the official activities at the Go Green Cricket and Sports Field. The Toronto Police Cricket Club and Go Green Youth Coaching team will start the festivities with a friendly cricket match. |
After the first innings, a barbecue will be served followed by speeches from dignitaries, partners & sponsors. Toronto Raptors Basketball Development will also run activities for youth in the new Multi-sport court funded by MLSE Foundation. |

At the start of second innings, fans will have a choice of watching the match outdoor or viewing a Youth Talent Show highlighting the community spirit. |

After five years of planning, fundraising and construction, the Go Green Cricket and Sports Field is open for youth in Thorncliffe and Flemingdon Park. The project this summer launches the TNO Go Green Multi-Sport Summer Camp offering free full-day youth programming with partner Thorncliffe Neighbourhood Office. |
