MEDIA ADVISORY - GoMedia 2018: Canada's signature travel media event builds awareness and boosts Alberta's tourism economy
CALGARY, Oct. 1, 2018 /CNW/ - From September 30 to October 3 Calgary will host GoMedia, Canada's annual signature travel media event at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre.
Presented by Destination Canada and hosted in joint partnership between Tourism Calgary and Travel Alberta, GoMedia connects tourism industry partners with over 150 top travel media and influencers from 10 countries.
The show features more than 150 travel media from 10 countries, engaging with 85 tourism industry leaders and 75 partner organizations and businesses.
Tourism is a key economic driver and diversifier for Alberta. In 2016, visitors to Alberta contributed over $8.5 billion to the province's economy, supporting 19,000 operators and employing 127,000 people in all corners of our province.
Royce Chwin, CEO, Travel Alberta, and Cindy Ady, CEO, Tourism Calgary are available for media interviews to discuss the significance of Alberta's visitor economy and its relation to this international event.
