Media advisory - Government of Canada highlights the 200th anniversary of the Battle of the Châteauguay Français
HOWICK, QC, Oct. 24, 2013 /CNW/ - The Honourable Robert Nicholson, Minister of National Defence will participate in a ceremony to highlight, to the day, the 200th anniversary of the Battle of the Châteauguay.
The event will take place at the site of the obelisk erected in 1895 by the Canadian Parliament in memory of this feat of arms. Special presentations will follow at the Interpretation Centre.
At 8 p.m., a military concert will be presented by the Fusiliers Mont-Royal regiment accompanied by musicians from the Black Watch at the Sainte-Cécile de Salaberry-de-Valleyfield Cathedral Basilica,
