Media Advisory - Governor General and Tom Jenkins to Launch the Young Readers' Edition of Ingenious Français
OTTAWA, Sept. 15, 2017 /CNW/ - His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Tom Jenkins, Chair and former CEO of OpenText and Chair of the National Research Council, will launch Innovation Nation and Ingénieux Junior, the young readers' edition of their popular book Ingenious, at St. George School (130 Keyworth Avenue), in Ottawa, on Monday, September 18, 2017, at 10:30 a.m.
The Governor General and Mr. Jenkins will talk about Innovation Nation and the importance of learning to be innovative at a young age. The conversation will be followed by a question period with students.
Published simultaneously in English and French by Tundra Books (division of Penguin Random House Canada) and Les Éditions La Presse, and illustrated by Mr. Josh Holinaty, this young readers' edition of Ingenious focuses on 50 kid-friendly Canadian innovations that changed the world, from canoes to whoopee cushions, chocolate bars to zippers. It will be a valuable resource for teachers who want to inspire their students to become innovators.
All proceeds will be directed to the Rideau Hall Foundation for activities and programs that inspire and support innovation by Canadians in every province and territory. Innovation Nation and Ingénieux Junior will be available to the public in mid-October.
Media wishing to attend the book launch are asked to confirm their attendance in advance with the Rideau Hall Press Office.
