Media Advisory - Governor General to Deliver Opening Address at the Senate Symposium on the 150th Anniversary of Canadian Confederation

OTTAWA, May 24, 2017 /CNW/ - His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will be the keynote speaker at the Senate Symposium on the 150^th Anniversary of Canadian Confederation. The event will take place inside the Senate Chamber, on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 9 a.m.

His Excellency will address participants at the opening of the event. This two-day symposium (May 25-26) will be hosted by the Honourable George J. Furey, Speaker of the Senate; the Honourable Serge Joyal, Senator and Symposium Coordinator, and the Honourable Judith Seidman, Senator and Advisor.
