OTTAWA, Oct. 18, 2016 /CNW/ - His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Michael Wernick, Clerk of the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of the Public Service, will present the 2016 Public Service Award of Excellence on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 2:30 p.m., at the Sir John A. Macdonald Building in Ottawa.
During the ceremony, 33 awards will be presented in the following categories to recipients from departments and agencies across Canada:
- Outstanding Career
- Management Excellence
- Employee Innovation
- Living the Blueprint 2020 Vision
- Excellence in Citizen-Focused Service Delivery
- Employment Equity and Diversity
- Official Languages
- Excellence in Policy
- Youth
- Exemplary Contribution Under Extraordinary Circumstances
- The Joan Atkinson Award
- Scientific Contribution
- Large-Scale Special Event or Project
About The Public Service Award of Excellence
The Public Service Award of Excellence recognizes employees who have demonstrated excellence in achieving results for Canadians and who reflect the priorities of the public service, while demonstrating key leadership competencies. The award is open to individuals and teams at all levels (other than the deputy minister level).
