Media Advisory - Governor General to Present the Caring Canadian Award to Volunteers with the Fondation maman Dion Français
OTTAWA, May 11, 2015 /CNW/ - Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston will be in Terrebonne, Quebec, to present the Governor General's Caring Canadian Award to 21 volunteers of the Fondation maman Dion during a ceremony that will take place at the Golf Le Mirage, on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at 7 p.m. The Governor General will also present a special honour to Mrs. Thérèse Tanguay Dion, founder of the Fondation maman Dion.

About the Caring Canadian Award
Created in 1995, the Governor General's Caring Canadian Award recognizes living Canadians and permanent residents who have made significant, sustained and unpaid contributions to their community, in Canada or abroad. Often working behind the scenes, these individuals volunteer their time and efforts to help their fellow citizens. The award also brings to light the example set by volunteers, whose compassion and engagement are a part of our Canadian character.
