OTTAWA, Jan. 12, 2016 /CNW/ - His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will present the 2015 Vanier Medal to the Honourable Wayne G. Wouters, past clerk of the Privy Council and secretary to the Cabinet. The ceremony will be held at Rideau Hall on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at 10 a.m.
On this occasion, His Excellency will recognize and honour Mr. Wouters for his contributions to Canadian public service.
About the Vanier Medal
The Vanier Medal, managed by the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC), is one of the highest forms of recognition for Canadian public administrators. It was created in 1962, in honour of then-Governor General the Right Honourable Georges P. Vanier. The medal is awarded annually to a person who has made significant contributions to and has shown distinctive leadership in the fields of public administration and public service in Canada.
