Media advisory - Governor General to visit Canadian Grenadier Guards during their Homecoming weekend Français
MONTREAL, Sept. 28, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Media are invited to attend the Homecoming weekend on Saturday, 29 September, for events that will include a visit from His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada.

What: | His Excellency will visit the Canadian Grenadier Guards during the regiment's Homecoming weekend and will attend the opening of a time capsule dating from 1912, the dedication of a new cornerstone and a tree planting ceremony. |
Other activities:
- 9:30 a.m. at the Regimental Museum: official opening of the first public display of the Victoria Cross awarded to John Francis Young, a member of the regiment, for his actions in France on 2 September 1918 during the Great War.
- Open house on Saturday, 29 September 2012, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Charity run to benefit the MS Society of Canada on Sunday, 30 September 2012, at 9 a.m.
Notes to the editor: Media are requested to confirm their presence and arrive no later than 10:15 a.m. for the events held on Saturday. Also note that His Excellency will also be participating at the 150th Anniversary Parade of the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment of Canada) taking place in Parc Jeanne-Mance at 2 p.m.
