government's new PhD scholarship for international students

TORONTO, Nov. 4 /CNW/ - Kimalee Phillip, Chairperson for the Ontario Graduate Caucus of the Canadian Federation of Students, is available for comment on the 75 new scholarships for international PhD students created by the Ontario government, announced yesterday.

Students have called for greater assistance for international students, but warn that financial assistance should be based on a student's particular need rather than merit alone. Graduate students call on Minister John Milloy to ensure that this new grant be equally distributed among students studying in all disciplines.

The Ontario Graduate Caucus of the Canadian Federation of Students unites more than 50,000 master's and doctoral students from universities across Ontario.
