Media Advisory - Habitat for Humanity GTA set to host home dedication ceremony for 6 families becoming first-time homeowners at their first-ever build in the Town of Caledon
Families previously living in need of decent, affordable housing celebrate their journey to homeownership alongside community members and the Mayor of Caledon
TORONTO, July 9, 2018 /CNW/ - Habitat for Humanity GTA (Habitat GTA) will join community members, political dignitaries, and the families that will be calling these houses their homes to hand over the keys at their first-ever build project in the town of Caledon on July 11th. The ceremony will bring over 50 people together including special guest speakers Allan Thompson, Mayor of Caledon, Johanna Downey, Regional Councillor, and parents and children of the new Habitat homeowners. As part of their partnership, these new Habitat homeowners volunteered 500 hours of sweat equity helping build their own homes and the homes of others as their down-payment, attended first-time homeowner trainings, and will make affordable mortgage payments on their new home.
